This past weekend, I had the opportunity to attend the Transformative Learning Foundation’s Online Residency and Graduation Ceremony. It was heartening to see people from around the world gather to discuss some of the pressing issues facing our world today with thoughtfulness and compassion and to hear about the journeys in transformative learning which the graduates have made. It was a special honor to witness two women I have mentored over the years complete their master’s degrees, Penny Cullen in New Zealand and Nina Strauss in Germany. Having the privilege to know these women grow and transform in so many ways over the past nine years has been one of the blessings of the internet’s power to bring people together to learn and grow. It was such an excellent reminder of how the internet is a tool that we can harness to bring people together for worthy causes. To learn more about the Transformative Learning Foundation’s offerings, check out their websitewww.transformativelearningfoundation.org or, better yet, come to one of the online Cafe Conversations from 4:00-5:00 PM PDT on Sundays. On October 11, 2020, at 4:00 PM PDT, I’ll be leading a conversation on using strengths to promote resilience and wellness during these unprecedented times. Over my many years of working with learners of all ages, I’ve become aware of the importance of creating safety and connection in our learning environments if we want to access our talents and strengths. Please stop by to learn new ways to keep your resilience and wellness cup full or be reminded of practices you might have let slide. If you have questions or want more information, please feel free to reach out to me atmonica@learningwithoutborders.comI am looking forward to hearing from you!
